Landscape lighting · Tri-Cities & Yakima

Your yard ends at sunset. It doesn't have to.

Colonial designs and installs landscape lighting around what you already have, so the house looks finished after dark and the yard stays usable once the sun goes down.

Chapter 01

You paid for the landscaping, then lost half the day to seeing it

You spent good money on the beds, the trees and the patio. Right now you can see all of it for about half of every day. Colonial designs and installs landscape lighting around what is already in the ground, so the house reads as finished after dark.

Most systems end up being some combination of three kinds of light: the house and the trees, the paths and steps, and the patio. Which mix suits your property depends on the property, and that is what the estimate is for.

FX Luminaire fixtures: warm white all year, holiday color in December

Colonial installs FX Luminaire systems. They run warm white the rest of the year and switch to holiday colors in December, so nothing gets hung, stored or bought a second time for the season. One system covers every holiday.

Fixtures sit low and aim up, which keeps the architecture and the mature trees from vanishing into the dark. Path light stays even and low in glare, because the route people walk every night is both the safety question and the curb appeal question.

Chapter 03

Book in September or October, and the system is running before the year ends

Lighting sold in September and October gets installed before the year ends, so it is on through the holidays. Wait until November and the install happens in the cold and dark, and you miss the part of the year lighting is most worth having.

The estimate is free. Our manager walks the property with you, looks at the landscaping and the house as they are, shows what lighting would do and covers pricing in that first conversation. No obligation, and no pressure to decide on the spot. We light yards in Richland, Kennewick, Pasco, West Richland, Yakima, Selah and the communities around them.

What we light

Three zones, mixed to suit the property

Some yards need all three. Some need one done well. The walkthrough decides.

  1. Zone 01

    The house and the trees

Fixtures set low and aimed up, so the architecture and the mature trees read at night instead of disappearing into a flat wall of dark.

  2. Zone 02

    Paths, walkways and steps

Even, low-glare light along the routes people actually walk. It is the safety piece and the curb appeal piece at the same time.

  3. Zone 03

    Patios and outdoor living

Light for the part of the yard you sit in, so the patio does not stop being usable the moment it gets dark.

FX Luminaire

One system. Every holiday.

Warm white the rest of the year. Holiday colors in December. The same fixtures do both jobs, so there is no second set to buy and nothing to hang or put away.

Install window

Sold in Sept or Oct, installed before the year ends.
